You temporarily define the containment area with Boundary Flags for a visual aid in training your pet. Your pet wears a Receiver Collar with Contact Points that touch his or her neck and, once trained, he or she is allowed to roam freely in the containment area. When your pet reaches the Boundary Zone, the Receiver Collar gives a warning beep before delivering a safe Static Correction through the Contact Points to get your pet's attention until he or she returns to the containment area.

The Instant Fence features the new PIF-275-19 Premium Deluxe Receiver with 6 Levels of Programmable Correction!  Now you can customize the correction level to meet your pet's unique training needs!  Only PetSafe offers this flexibility in a Wireless Pet Fence!

The receiver now weighs only 2.5 ounces, is 20% smaller than the receiver which previously came with this system and has a new battery cap module, now making it a truly waterproof receiver.

How the Instant Fence works:

Instant Fence is a revolutionary new concept that provides the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever. Setting up your Instant Fence takes just a few minutes with the included installation video. The transmitter plugs into a standard 110 volt outlet and emits a 17.5kHz radio signal which is picked up by the lightweight receiver worn on your pet's collar which "listens" for the signal. Since the signal will transmit reliably through walls and other obstructions, the transmitter can be placed in any convenient and discreet location, typically in the garage or a closet. Once you have set up the Instant Fence, you can now adjust the range that is appropriate for your pet and your yard. While the collar/receiver is receiving the signal, your pet is free to run and play in your yard. When he approaches the boundary of the signal area, he receives a warning beep. If your pet does not return, he receives a static correction which is startling but not harmful. With a little simple training, your pet will quickly learn his boundaries.

Training your pet is quick and easy. Just follow the training instructions on the video that is included with your Instant Fence. Once you have adjusted the signal to the perimeter you want, mark the boundary by placing the training flags at the edge of the signal. Every Instant Fence comes with the transmitter, one receiver, 50 boundary flags for training your pet and a video and manual that explains installation and training. You can contain an unlimited number of pets with your Instant Fence by purchasing additional receivers.

We do not recommend the Instant Fence for pets under 8 pounds. In addition, we do not recommend the Instant Fence for dogs that are stubborn or hard to train or that have thick fur. The receiver may not have a strong enough correction for these types of dogs.
